So I lubed the strips with mineral oil. While quieter it’s not as quiet as removing the strips.
I haven’t disassembled a module to check, but are the strips riding on rollers or on bushings of some kind? I’m guessing bushings (cheaper). If so, polishing the bushings might reduce noise further.

Definitely not a roller, not really a bushing. Just a plastic slot.
so that little thing with the spring on it is inside the module? or is that a tool of some kind
That’s the tensioning tool for the metal cover strip.
I have that in the tool kit but couldn’t for the life of me figure out what it was.
