Using usb drive connector to power led lights

I have some rather low-power LED lights that I would like to mount on my snapmaker a350t, and I was going to use the usb flash drive connector to power them. Is there any specs regarding the current available at that connector?
thanks

I’m not sure the IC servicing that port but USB2 specification is a maximum of 2.5W @ 5V. A typical thing drive consumes about 0.2W while in use.

So I’d say it’s safe to power at least half a watt continuously and possibly up to 2.5W assuming a fully compliant USB host chip.

Reviewing the old board pic I took when it was apart the 5V source might be a dedicated regulator, so who knows how much it can supply. It might be the same source that powers the touchscreen.

Isn’t that a lot to assume considering other SM design choices?

I just run mine off a spare usb adapter/charger.

I’m neutral loll. One can assume lots of things. It’s not illegal to assume I can run a coffee maker off it the cops can’t do anything to me hahaha

Yeah, I know it will power it, as I briefly plugged them in last night, while the machine was idle. I just didn’t want to blow out a regulator.
