3.1 gen 2’s only difference is speed of 10gb/s, other than that it’s exactly same as 3.0 gen whatever, 3.1 gen 1 is 3.0 gen whatever also, but with 5gb/s, they literally just renamed it a few times. It has confused a lot of people. The problem with the cables you’re noticing is born from this confusion so it gets mislabeled as a gen 2 when it’s really a gen 1.
I can confirm this cable works but you have to cut back some of the terminal housing:
I used a dremel to sand down the terminal housing back 1.4mm and is working fine and is not loose when plugged in.
I still hope @Snapmaker-Support makes an adapter though as we should not have to sand down cables to make them work.
After adding a usb extension so I can have my controller outside of the enclosure I realized I needed a stand so I made one that works with the magnetic one you screw into the platform. Hope this helps anyone else. Snapmaker Controller Stand by Designsbywilliam - Thingiverse
Hey! i can also confirm that i got the cable you recommended and cut back the housing and it works like a charm =)
printing this now!!! thanks much!
my touchscreen doesn’t work at the first power ON so I can’t tall you …
Clear some insulation from the connector of the extension cable to make sure the connector can fully be inserted in the socket of the controller.
Hello, the extension of the touchscreen works for me too. But now the USB A socket for the stick no longer works? If I put the touch screen back directly into the controller, will the stick be recognized again?! Anyone have anything like this?
greetings
Cutting off a bit of the male side of my USB C extension cable worked for me as the rest of everyone. I also had to consider the orientation of the female side of the extension cable, oddly enough. My extension cable mentioned that orientation mattered here in some cases. Thought that may help someone else as well.
