Just received my U1, bought it mainly for tpu. I tried slot 4 first, print got 1/2 way through and then started air printing, nothing coming out. I had to take apart the tool head to remove the TPU stuck in the gears
I then tried slot 3, that worked, the object printed. Last night I tried slot 1, same as slot 4, tpu not stuck in gears, I have not unassembled toolhead 1 yet.
My question is, is this the experience others are having? Anything I can do to improve the situation?
I have the spools in a cereal box with rollers, its a free 3d model on various sites. The tpu flows pretty easily out of the cereal box, meaning not much drag with the design. I place that box so the filament runs straight into the feeder slot
I’ve also experienced the same situation as you, but it was because I didn’t adjust the parameters properly and the print speed was too high. You can refer to the suggestions on this page to optimize your print parameters.
If you’ve not done so already, try bypassing the feeder motors . I bypassed the filament feeders on the side of the U1 when using TPU. I successfully printed models on the U1 yesterday using Bambu’s TPU 95A-HF, and with the generic TPU 95A-HF profile. I’ve not tried the non-HF so my scenario is slightly different from yours.
I manually fed the TPU into the extruder gears. There is an option when loading filament to choose manual vs automatic.
