I’ve had this rattle since I got the machine, I had figured it was normal but i’m just posting these to see what you guys think and if I should look into it. I have also checked and made sure that all screws are tight and proper. I’ve already sent the videos to support but as they take forever I figured I’d check here too. I also have been noticing kind of a mild clunk or thud when the y axis stops/starts moving for/from straight x axis travel. Everything is connected right, I made sure to follow the assembly instructions and double checked every step. The videos may sound louder than they actually are, the first one I recorded with my phone inside the enclosure, also please forgive the format as I used my phone.
Top video is the rattle, bottom is the clunking.
Sounds “normal”. Some of the rattle can be attributed to Y axis resonance at slow speeds. Some can be attributed to the dust strips which can be tightened with tool in the toolbox that looks weird - there’s a video on the FAQ page on how to use it (How to install the stainless steel strip of the linear module? – Snapmaker).
The clunking could be the high acceleration as it changes direction. I found print quality increased by decreasing the machine’s maximum acceleration using M204. May also reduce clunking, but will slightly increase print times.
Cool I’ll give that ago, I’m not too worried about print times as I can work on designs while something prints. Just wanted to make sure that there was nothing going on that I needed to worry about like a module going out.
