U1 Video Guide: Part Cooling Fan Adapter Board Replacement
Hi U1 community,
We’ve put together a step-by-step video to guide you through replacing the part cooling fan adapter board on your U1. You can watch the full guide here:
U1 Video Guide: Filament Loading and Unloading Guide
In most cases, the Snapmaker U1’s automatic filament system handles loading and unloading seamlessly. However, when working with certain flexible materials, manual assistance is still needed.
This video will walk you through the different filament loading and unloading methods, explaining when and how to use each one. You can jump to the section that applies to your needs.
Topics covered in this video:
Automatic Loading
Manual Loading
Unloading: Rigid vs. Flexible Filaments
Check out the video to see each method in action and learn how to ensure smooth and reliable filament handling for your projects.
I appreciate all the How-To videos that you’re making for the U1. However I wish they were verbal instead of background music & having to read the directions. If I have to read I’d rather read a Wiki with pictures.
U1 Video Guide: Toolhead Picking and Parking Troubleshooting
Hi U1 community,
We’ve received some feedback about U1 toolhead picking or parking issues. A troubleshooting video is now available to help you resolve this. In the video, you’ll find:
Identifying issues with picking, parking, or repeated swaps
Basic pre-checks like connecting to Wi-Fi and updating firmware
Step-by-step troubleshooting guide for common causes
Hi Gramps Too, thank you for sharing your feedback. We really appreciate you letting us know what would be more helpful for you.
I’ve passed your suggestion to the team. While our resources are limited at the moment, we’ll keep this in mind and look for opportunities to improve the presentation and overall quality of our videos in the future.
I do understand the resources it requires to make those videos, and as said I do appreciate all the work & sharing of information. Keep up the good work.
I anxious awaiting my U1 set to arrive March/April.
Is there a plan to release a video on replacing the heat bed soon? Support is sending me a new heat bed, and the procedure described in the wiki seems quite intense .
We’ve updated our Unboxing and Assembly Guide for the Snapmaker U1. This version includes some improvements and additional tips to make assembly easier and help reduce potential issues.
What’s updated:
Updated unboxing method
Vertical feeder wiring
Filament rack installation
Filament rack removal
Filament tube installation (ensure proper insertion and notch angle)
Print head wiring and screw tightening
Check out the updated guide here:
We recommend reviewing these updates before assembling your U1.
This is great, however, I would have liked there to have been a stock, out of the box, option to attach the dryer tubes to the automatic feeders. I love the machine so far, otherwise
U1 Video Guide: How to Print PLA with PETG Support
In this quick video, learn how to print with PLA and use PETG for supports, ensuring easy removal and a clean finish.
Watch the video for the full guide!
Note: This video seems to suggest the U1 will remember the measured K factors until you unload filament. This appears to be the original intended behavior.
However, engineering confirms that after the print where they are measured, any request to change the PA factor on later prints will override that setting. And the default slicer behavior sets it to the value in the material profile.
So the default behavior does not use the measured dynamic flow calibration for anything other than the immediate print.
A tip for more advanced users: Personally, I would suggest monitoring the printer’s command readback in the fluidd web interface while the dynamic flow (pressure advance) is measured by the U1. It will tell you the answer as each measurement finishes, which can be saved in the material settings for your Snapmaker Orca profile for future use and give you a better default value without needing to measure it again later. The result is actually pretty good.
U1 Video Guide: Home Calibration & Manual Leveling
To ensure print quality and stable toolhead operation, Home Calibration and Manual Leveling are essential setup steps.
Home Calibration ensures accurate toolhead pick and park, preventing toolhead swapping failures.
Manual Leveling guarantees a level heated bed, improves first-layer print quality, and reduces issues such as warping or layer separation.
This video provides a step-by-step demonstration of how to correctly perform Home Calibration and Manual Leveling, helping you achieve smooth, high-quality printing.
I have to disagree: I tested with some white PETG and the automatic calibration resulted in 0.027 while the actual optimum was at 0.040 - that’s pretty far off, unfortunately.
I would love to know how the auto-calibration works (what’s actually measured?) to be able to guess why it’s so wrong for me.
In this video, we’ll guide you through printing TPU on the Snapmaker U1.
The video also covers common TPU printing issues, corresponding solutions, and practical tips to help improve print results.
The tutorial is organized into five parts:
00:19 Part 1: Before Starting 01:28 Part 2: Loading Filament 04:30 Part 3: Slicing 08:07 Part 4: Printing 12:54 Part 5: Post Processing
If you’re planning to print flexible materials or would like to better understand TPU-related settings and troubleshooting, we recommend watching the full video for detailed guidance.
