I purchased Snapmaker in June and since then only have managed to go through 1kg filament and around 70 small wooden engravings (guest names for my wedding). I am not sure, but I think I have rust on all of my linear modules where the grease used to be. Is it a simple matter of cleaning and/or WD40 treatment or is my machine slowly dying? Thanks!
It’s not rust. They’re stainless steel. It’s just some grease residue/dirt accumulation. Not really going to affect anything.
Do not use wd40 anywhere on or near your SM.
Wipe off with a soft dry cloth. Use some Isopropyl alcohol if need be.

Awesome! Thank you, really glad the solution is simple. I thought it could be just some residue but for some reason I decided to panic and worry I was using/taking care of the machine badly.
