I made a quick 3d model to test out two things: overhang (cantilever) and sloping walls.
The sloping walls on the bottom pyramid turned out nice.
The top overhanging piece was supposed to be a cube but that did not turn out so well.
I used the High Quality setting from the SnapMaker software.
Two apparent issues in the print are the corners of the cube warped and turned upward and the bottom of the cube where it intersects with the pyramid and begins to cantilever isn’t smooth, There is a visible droop between the corners of the cube as well.
I feel like this is a test whose results people would benefit from as I’m sure people will be running into some cantilever issues as well.
Anyone have any ideas how to tweak the settings to get a more accurate print?
try printing this again but print two or three at the same time. as other people have mentioned it’s looking like an inadequate part cooling/too short a minimum layer time (which doesn’t seem to be a thing you can adjust in snapmaker software). i’m pondering on making a duct for the part cooling fan which might help too
BUT ONLY if you put it on after printing has started. Homing will fail if it is in it’s place because this touches heated bed before finding bottom of z-axis. Best is to take the bottom clip out and snap it on from side. Quite difficult when print head is moving but doable.
I have tried to search if anyone has made alternative solutions for external fan but have not found them. Better to learn 3d-modeling…
