Hello, the Vibration Compensation is active for all speed??
Hi Riskey, in Snapmaker2_2.0.8 there is a little bug that whenever it needs to load a temperature for the nozzle heating when you want to load filament or the calibration heating of the bed. it sets the temp in the screen but it only goes to that temperature when you have moved the slider. If you donāt touch it it will not heat automatically.
Hi nfmaas, this issue will be fixed in the next high-speed firmware version, which will be released in a week.
Will the source be made available as well?
Hello, anynews for the new version??
I want try this beta?
thanks
Paolo
So the A350T I got shortly before Christmas is already outdated ? From outside the enclosure I can only see the text on the left rail which says 8, but when looking in the store i see 5 modules to buy in a set some 8 some 20.
EDIT: The manual says some where 20 (y-axis) some 8. Not exactly sure how this firmware now applies, but I would assume as long as those are 20 its fine
The A350T has the newest rails, all 20mm except for the Z-axis rails which remain 8mm. Z-axis is barely affected by printing faster, as it will still move just about 0.2mm per layer (depending on your layer height). X and Y is where most motion is and thus where the vibration compensation is applied.
Your A350T is fine, this is currently āexperimentalā firmware, so ignore it until it becomes an official release and tune in your 3Dp module with the current working firmware ()
@Riskey , is it possible to either release the code in the public repo or give it to people compile custom FW please?
We are using custom version already for along time for inline support and we could also test the vibration reduction at the same time in the same release.
Thanks
Please do update the public repo, itās very weird that most of the work happens in the background and the public repo gets almost no care, with releases and commits randomly popping in but no clear tagging or separation between them. One of the reasons I decided to become a customer was because I saw the source files and was very excited to see what the community and I would be able to contribute to make everyoneās machines better.
This is still within reach and it shouldnāt even be hard to do. Iām here volunteering to do some cleanup work and talk to developers to get things up to date if they donāt have the time for this housekeeping tasks.
A bit of feedback on the current beta - Snapmaker2_2.0.10 - Printing is working well on my a350t with single printhead. Main observation is the enclosure ledās flicker a bit as the printhead moves.
Defiantly faster with equal or better quality - seems to work fine at 125mm/s with a bit of additional noise from the rails.
It would be great to see the source - keen to try with the laser and inline mod (why this hasnāt been merged is beyond me) - Fix: fix 10w laser online power enable exception in G0/G1 command Ā· Snapmaker/Snapmaker2-Controller@f6967d0 Ā· GitHub
Any idea when the beta will be done and V2 released properly?
In one year, I purchased a few printersā¦ The first is very loud, an A350T model, everything about it is loud. I purchased one six months ago and it is nearly silent, it didnāt make me happy because both were supposed to be newer and quieter. The difference with the loud machine is that all of the linear modules are the same, with the near silent modules, four are the 20mm and one is 8mm. Iāve had problems with Amazon sending these printers as open box or otherwise returned when they should have been new. Snapmaker never bothered to resolve the issue. This happened with three of five printers. The newer rails (Screws, linear modules are VERY quiet.
Hi guys, juat first, i am new to snapmaker and 3D Printing, just got my SM2 for 1Week
today i flashed the beta firmware, the little ship benchmark look nice
but i am confused about the slicer settings in cura, just test some settings from the ship picture, but my prints are shifted on my settings, but not on little ship file from this threadā¦
can someone please post working speed settings like the one from little ship or tell me what i should set
Thank & greets from Austria
Thomas
I have also tried to reproduce the profile in Cura as I thought it would be fairly easy because Luban is based on the Cura slicing engine. I extracted the following settings from the benchy test code: extruder_quality: general: version: 4 name: J1-Speedup-0.25 - Pastebin.com.
As Luban has different features than Cura, the settings do not map 1:1. I could not reach the same speed/quality as the pre-sliced print and I gave up on Cura as I prefer PrusaSlicer. In PrusaSlicer I have managed to get the same speed and quality as the pre-sliced benchy.
Perhaps if youāre used to Cura itās easier to get it working with the settings in the link I shared above.
Hey! I recently loaded the beta firmware and have tried a few prints. One was a 36hr print to make an accessory storage systemā¦ for some reason I started having pretty bad layer shift on the y-axis for no good reason. Checked the gcode I used and it all seems to be fine. Then, I tried printing the pre-sliced benchy and strangely enough, two of the sides of the print (on the hull specifically) look HORRIBLE. See attached photos.
I had an issue a while back with my Y-axis linear modules causing a wobbly print bed and support instructed me on how to adjust the sliders.
My X-axis linear module seems to have a high pitched grinding sound at higher speeds in one section, so I might attempt opening it up and adjusting that slider as well. Maybe that will fix the issue.
Pretty sure there arenāt any issues with any of the software, but more of an issue with my printer itself.
Just wanted to share my findings anyways!
hello everyone, Iāve been trying this firmware for several days, but several times Iāve had layer shift problems, even printing at normal speeds of 60mm/s will this problem be solved??
Iāve never had these problems with the stock firmware.
Anyone have a good Cura profile fo this new firmware? I am tinkering but would love to get something more concrete for a big project I am doing.
Loaded up the firmware but it does seem to stutter whilst printing, momentarily stops for half a second or so and then continues. Hopefully this can be sorted as it leaves a blob when it stops.
Old or new linear modules? Iām still on the old ones and really hesitant to try the new version with the caution given by the developers about step skippingā¦
