Hi, I’m currently developing an add-on for the Snapmaker U1, and during my measurements I found two different distances between the cable guide and the machine housing. Before I continue designing, I’d like to check whether this is a measurement consistency or if the units vary.
If you own a U1, could you please measure the distance between the cable guide and the housing on your machine and let me know what you get?
Any input would really help clarify whether there are tolerances or egularities.
My values are 9 to the right and 8.5 to the left, pictures added..
Hi, thank you very much, this is awesome.. My Problem still is: Your Model is perfectly symetrical, while mine IRL is not. And i cant see any part, like the outer plastic that is misaligned or something.. Did you measure your device exactly left and right? I made a sketch of the measurements i did before in Fusion.. My device has 8,5cm on the right and 9cm on the left..
Perfect, thank you, bought the scan an it pretty much matches my measurements, so the device is not exactly symmetrical in this region. Thats what i needed to know!
It should be the same for everyone, because I noticed the machine’s rear cover has a shrinkage inclination angle, which I also measured manually. Your measurement will have errors too.
Yes, of course, these weren’t exact values, it was about the difference. I just wanted to make sure i can design the part on my printer and it still fits all others. And I designed some tolerances of course, just needed to know if i have to make them bigger.
