Hello, has anyone encountered such an issue before? When printing, from time to time, the platform starts shaking strongly. What could be the problem?
The bearings in your Y-modules came loose. Hereâs how to fix it:
Just today did this with all of my linear modules. Itâs not too difficult, just take care not to damage the end switches. Also, the steel strip adjustment is not explained there - see here:
âWow, this seems a bit complicated for me. Iâm thinking, could it be because itâs weakening due to the temperature? I just started printing with PLA at a bed temperature of 70 degrees, and there are no such hiccups. But when I print with ABS at 96 degrees, after a while it starts to shake. Am I imagining this?â
There might be all kind of reasons why this happens - I do not think it is strictly connected to temperature.
Do not be afraid of doing the adjustment - it is not really complicated. Make sure you own callipers, otherwise youâll have difficulties to take the distance measure. Callipers are a useful tool anyhow, so not wasted money. The only âbe carefulâ step in the procedure is when you re-insert the slider - do not damage the end switch.
The alternative is getting new linear rails - but thatâs a rather expensive solution to something that with less than an hour of work can be fixed.
EDIT: I just realized that they changed the How-To guide online! It seems that the T/F-Modules have a slightly different procedure! I found this for the âoldâ procedure:
