Luban 4.1.4 Laser Filling in Letter Holes

Hi All,

So I’m at the stage of a current project where Im switching from CNC to Laser. I haven’t connected my 10W laser yet, and was playing with the new(er) Luban update.

Below are two images: The first is from photoshop where I have text and the outline of a heart. The second is from luban after I tried setting up a vector engrave.

Why is the A and O filled in completely? How do I correct this?

I have tried line vs dot, different fill levels, etc. The only time the letters are defined as they should be is if I do “on the path” vs fill, but that isn’t what I’m trying to achieve.

Thanks all!

For reference, the heart outline and words are in different vector processes. They are not together in terms of how the machine would burn.

Settings:

Luban is kinda stupid about its vector fill mode. It doesn’t seem to differentiate between inside and outside and if it has a complete outside line, it’ll fill the entire thing. I found it better to export it as a high quality PNG, then use the B&W mode and fill engrave.

Hi Skree,

This worked! Its dumb it needs to be done that way, but it does appear to have worked in the preview now.

Makes me wonder if the heart had a closed profile (it was open at the top stem) if it would have tried to fill the whole thing in too.

Likely, I’m glad it worked in the end though.
