Laser power settings

First of all thanks to all who helped me during my initial wifi problems and getting started in printing. Now I am learning how to use the laser. I am sure I saw a sort of chart that gave recommended laser power settings for engraving on different materials but I cannot find it, so if anyone can tell me where to look that would be appreciated. I am trying to engrave a photo and in my first attemp the laser was at 100% and produced a charcaol mess. I am trying again with laser power set to 75% but that is just a guess.
