Laser head crashing into work surface

Mine has crashed twice, in the same place, the front left corner of the bed.

First time was when I first got it, I was just going to the work home position.

Not sure why this latest one, I turned it on, it went home, I loaded a gfile which I’ve used successfully before and it just goes down to the left corner and crashes, nothing I can do except shut the machine off if I can reach the switch in time…

just got the 10w laser, followed the instructions exactly, start to cut a file i’ve cut before, head crashes, reboot, go home, go to work center, crashes

this is an OLD bug and pretty simple code there’s no excuse, after it goes to home it knows it’s position, there are no conditions it should be allowed to move to a position where it’s going to crash into the bed

The same has happened to me twice the last 10 days. The second time i indtall and use laser 1.6 W, the previous time was 2.5 years ago…The laser head goes violently on the southwest corner of the working surface pushing in down for 1-2 cm bending it a little. Any help?

Forgot to mention that recently Quick swap kit was installed.

Not sure if this is also your problem, but several cases of the 1.6W laser doing strange things were attributed to an off value for the laser height. Solution was in all cases: On the touchscreen, go to Settings > Laser > Adjust Laser Height. Set the Laser Height to 23.0mm and then recalibrate.

Did you activate the quickswap kit in the touchscreen settings? - This would add the QS Kit value to the z height.

Yes. I have done the activation plenty of times since installed the quick swap. Thank you!
