Laser cutting from SVG gives me a double line

Luban 3.8 is giving me a double cut around a “single line” SVG drawing.

I am only cutting paper, so the first trace drops the cut out, and the second trace usually mars the finished product.

is there a way to make Luban produce gcode that only traces the path once?

I searched for “hairline” and “double cutting”, but I didn’t find anything.
The Inkscape file has a line that is “0.1 pt”.

thanks

Part of the problem was that the output of my “trace bitmap” was tracing both sides of the solid line, and therefore producing two lines that were very close together.

I solved the problem by upgrading Inkscape (from 0.92 to 1.0), and then using the new
“centerline tracing (autotrace)” option (see final screenshot). Then I still had to reduce my line weight to 0.1pt.

now it works as expected, with a single pass, single trace cutting.

I love it when someone answers their own question. Thanks for the info, I have been meaning to give inkscape a try.

Happy making
