Laser and 3D module not working anymore

Hi, yesterday, I’ve changed the single print head of my A350 (no enclosure)and replace it with the 10w laser. When trying to set the home, I’ve tried activating the laser but I did not saw any blue dot. I did a few more tests and came to the conclusion the laser did not work anymore. I’ve changed the 10w head with the 1.6w laser and got the same result. I’ve reinstall the 3D head and try to load some filament. Load/Unload are not working but the nozzle is heating as I can see filament oozing from the nozzle. I’ve change the toolhead wire with the Y wire. Same result.
Based on my test, the problem is probably not the toolheads or the wire. What would be the next test to figure out the problem? I guess it’s either coming from the power supply or the box where all the cables are connected? Is there any fuse in the power supply I might have to change?

I forgot to mention, I’ve just updated the firmware before I did my first test. As I suspect the new firmware might be the culprit, I’ve reinstall an older firmware… same problem…

Hi,

From my experience here in the forum, I would say that
a) the module has been changed while snapmaker was on or
b) the plug was inserted in the wrong way round (yes, that’s possible! :wink: )

In both cases, the controller and possibly a module will have been destroyed. You can buy the controller in the snapmaker store. You may also be able to borrow one from a friend?

My first thought was that the module has been plugged in while the machine was on.
Is that the case?

I’m not sure, it might have been.
I took the controller apart and found a burnt chip :weary_face: I guess it can’t be fix?

No, You will need to order another controller. If you are lucky your modules are ok.

If not, you may need to replace the PCBs in them as well.

Try ordering a new controller first (Support@snapmaker.com).
See how things work with the new controller, and order more parts if needed later on.
