hi, I noticed that I have exactly the problem you described on both extruders, do you think it’s enough to tighten them more or is it better to put a drop of threadlocker?
22 days later…still have an expensive paper weight
Tighten what exactly?
I want my money back, they better respond to my inquiries.
I don’t know what else to do, and I am not taking it apart to the extent others here have done.
I feel ya. I too would like to return mine and haven’t heard anything in weeks.
Bei Interesse, eventuell hilft das…
If you are interested, this might help…
So much stuff don’t work. I tried 4 days to print one piece. Don’t finished …
All I get is a clog clog clog and a rattle …
No more answers from support…
May be better give up? I don’t know. I love the printer and the design as well but others have better firmware and more settings or calibrations and the important fact:
They print and work well with no issues and nothing to fix right out the box. I don’t have problems to upgrade or fix some things, but no working extruders, bad heatsink and some more is but to much for that bunch of money I spend on it.
Im Confused about that situation
I’m with you JohnDoe - I seem to have a the entire gambit of issues with this thing. Clicking extruders, crap linear rails that result in horrible horizontal quality, constantly detecting clogs in the right extruder which isn’t clogged, a bet that is never level and no way to level it manually.
There’s a couple of folks on here that have done a lot of work to get their printers actually working. At this price point we should only be doing work to tweak the performance of this thing - the actual function should be dialed in.
I should have zero bed leveling issues and the extruders should work flawlessly for $1,000. I don’t, and there’s been zero communication from Snapmaker acknowledging the poor quality / QA on these machines.
Such a waste of resources. I should have never trusted them and backed this thing on Kickstarter, and just saved my money for something that works, like a Bambu.
What a joke.
I payed 16k for that thing. And I want some more of them for my shop because they fast and solid, but if the printer don’t work I better don’t do it. I will wait couple of days and hope I become a response with a resulution for my case. I don’t understand why they have so much difference between the printers. No QC or what? My 2.0 Run with no problems, that was the reason to buy the J1 for that bunch of Money, but I think that was not a good idea. I become a non working printer and have to repair them by my self…?
Sorry that’s really Bad
Hope they will help in that case.
I think that printer can be a awesome Machine if it work
Agreed. I think the printer has potential, but that’s all it is for me at this point, is potential. It’s got good ‘bones’ and can probably eventually be a good machine, but right now there’s enough people on here with problems that I believe it’s a dumpster fire.
I hope Snapmaker steps up and does the right thing, but there’s enough people on here complaining about not getting support from them, that I’m ignoring this thing until something changes.
I was interested in this printer, good thing I looked a bit closer. It is shocking, that a whole community has not figured out what the cause of the “clicking” noise and failed prints is. As someone owning printers for the past 15 years, I can’t imagine that no one was able to figure this out. And the company support is silent?
Yes, badly but that’s fact at the moment. They say I have to fix it by my self
Yeah @Mulder I think there’s a good base to work with, but the printer has major issues that seem like they’re solvable, but Snapmaker doesn’t appear to be interested in solving them, or if they are, they’re keeping it secret for some reason.
Doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy about them being interested in fixing it.
Fixing it yourself is all well and good, but if the firmware doesn’t work, what are you supposed to do yourself?
German:
Selbst in Ordung bringen ist ja recht und schön, aber wenn die Firmware nicht funktioniert, was soll man da selbst machen?
I don’t even get a reply to my mails, even though I sent everything they wanted!
German:
Ich bekomme nicht einmal eine Antwort auf meine Mails, obwohl ich alles hingesendet habe was sie wollten!
I suspect it’s because they don’t have any answers to your questions.
But one should at least make an interim announcement.
Agree 100%. Would go a long way to retaining customers on the edge of never buying another Snapmaker thing.
I’m one of them too! I’ve already thought about returning it.
same here. very bad, i dont understand
