Is the Touch Screen necessary?

Aside from my initial setup failure, is the Touch Screen necessary for setup? Can I calibrate the printing bed and nozzle for 3d printing using only Luban? My connection issue is where the “the machine is not connected, would you like to reconnect” error continuously pops up and I can’t even get to using the test sheet for tension or crinkling.

Technically…yes actually.

Here’s the backstory: How to do a larger than 3 x 3 matrix level

The commands to do a 5x5 grid calibration, run via USB, would be
G1029 P5
G1029 A
Set nozzle to correct height via G91 / G0 Z moves or jog in Luban
G1029 S
G1029 D0

I will give it a shot. Thanks so much for the advice. I’m still waiting to hear back from Snapmaker on the control issue and hopefully they can get me a new unit or touchscreen. Thank you.

Sorry to say that nothing still works. Being new to this, I’m at a bit of a loss.

Can you turn off the machine, unplug the touchscreen, turn it back on, and connect with Luban via USB? I just tried that and it works, I can G28 to make it home.

If you can’t do that, then it sounds like the touchscreen is (unfortunately) accurately reporting a non-functioning main controller.

Only option is going to be support if that’s the case
