I still have very little experience with the SM1 laser. Some time ago I also bought a stronger module. Now I want to try it out too. In order to have some successes I would like to try out some files. Now to my question! Is there a collection of files that are freely available? I’ve already spent a few hours searching the net for it. Unfortunately with very little success! Can someone help me?

If you’re looking for things to cut out, there are some on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=laser+cut&type=things&sort=relevant .
If you’re looking for pictures to laser-engrave, you can get a wide assortment of public domain SVG files from https://freesvg.org/ (check tags like “black and white” or “silhouette” to find things that are more laser-friendly, and ignore the stuff in the ad-box near the top of the page).

If youre interested in making your own Cutouts, having a programm which created SVGs like Inkspace is a starter. It has a learning curve though, but with the Interwebs on your side you shoudl be bale to make thigns yourself. I didnt do much lasercutting so far as i didnt have the need but its a cool option for sure.
What you have to think about, if you have a 200mW Module you wont be able to cut every material, even a 1.6W isnt sufficient for everything but testign out should work. Also VENTILATE the bit ive tried i had a horrible headache after it.
