Hi all, I am still on the look out for a SnapMaker Original 1.6w laser as a matter of urgency 
I am completing a project for my wife’s school and can not find a laser for the Original anywhere! My 1.6w stopped working and my .2w just does not do what I need 
guardian angel required. I am doing this for nothing so can not consider upgrading right now either

Is the “original” 1.6w the same as supplied with a 2.0?
No the original is different than the 2.0 and there are none on eBay

Have you tried emailing support? It wouldn’t surprised me if they have a few laying around that never sold. Shipping would likely be from Shenzhen though, which can be quick or glacial.
I have an Original 1.6W, never used. But I’m in the States, so the same international shipping caveats would apply.
In theory, running the 0.2W at 1/8th the rate of the 1.6W should do the same thing. IIRC, they are the same frequency. There is a guide with some examples of parameters to do the job with both lasers at https://support.snapmaker.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019025954-The-Definitive-Guide-to-Laser-Engraving-and-Cutting-with-the-200mW-and-1600mW-Laser-Module .
If you can’t wait (or support is completely out), and nobody comes through, there is probably a Library or Maker’s Space not too far away that has a bigger machine you can use.

Did you find the laser module yet? I will sell you mine, it probably has less than 40 prints. I just bought the 10 Watt module and do not need the 1.6 Watt one. Everyone keep in mind the difference between the 2.0 1.6W module, and the Original 1.6W module.
2.0 Version;
Original (This is the required one);
They are not interchangeable. The connector cable on the original is similar to an RJ45/Ethernet jack, whereas the 2.0 is proprietary.
That being said, I DID find two websites in Germany selling them, however, I don’t know if that’s very helpful.
