On start of Artisan it was not possible to run lasers on snapmaker Artisan without enclosure when I remember correctly. I would suggest to ask support@snapmaker.com first.

The Wiki is a good start. When switching tool heads, think of it as a process. I use the laser on occasion, and it works really cool. It requires the enclosure for overall safety and the air filter for contaminants. Once you connect everything then change the S/W to in a Laser mode. Calibration is a little different with the elevated calibration tool. Wood has a characteristic burned wood smell and plastic outgasses bad nasty compounds. Curios what you want to do with it. This machine is amazing; you can do so much with it. When I get stuck, I try a different approach. The laser is a material search of what you want to work with and the settings. Snapmaker has a video on material considerations.

I may be repetitive here and annoying: Make sure to play it safe! You only have two eyes, and your loved ones may not be aware of the dangers of lasers. So make sure that you and everyone who might get into the vicinity of the machine wears eye protection.
