Head swap with camera quick-release plates

Quick release plates as an antidote to the sour grapes of the Artisan?

Plates vary, but many have machined repeatable lock in and multiple attachment points.
Wobble is not welcome when filming either.

Alta Swiss and Manfrotto are two common standards.

Could work for the heads and beds?

Anyone attempt this madness?

There’s a custom design that works well for tool swaps here:

I’ve been using it for about a year without noticing any particular impact on the functioning of the system. Mostly swapping between CNC and the 3D Print head.

I stumbled into that yesterday — looks great, and the pen and cutter attachments were an exciting find.

What do you think about quick release plates for the beds?

Seems like that is the most time consuming part of switching between tools?

Like @eableson, I’ve been using fips quick change toolheads (and plotter, and drag knife toolhead) for almost two years on my Snapmaker A350 with nothing but joy to report. I also use the quick change beds from this seller on Etsy with equal success. There was no way I was going to unscrew and re-screw all those fasteners as often as I change function. Thanks for the heads up on the quick change bed designs. I hadn’t seen those ones before and that makes for the perfect combination to easily swap tools as required.

I just finished printing a set of these, and the idea is lovely; next, I plan to buy the STL file mentioned below for the quick swap bed.

But my question is, how do I recalibrate the Laser module autofocus and the 3d printer head?

Do I need to do anything special when calibrating? I would assume that I would need to adjust the Z offset but by how much?

Thanks
