I tend to create in a Drafting program and then export to dxf files. This has worked very well in Luban for laser cutting or engraving. My question is making multiple dxf files for a particular piece, is it possible to change the order in which cuts are made? Simple example, cutting out a square that has engraving or other cut outs within the square. Luban pretty much always cuts out the square first, which either leaves the piece a bit loose on the table or the square warps slightly and no longer sits flat. Both will affect the engraving or cuts within the square. Is there a way to have it engrave and do the cuttings within the square before it cuts out the square? I would assume that would involve editing the G Code, if so any good reference material that would help me to understand G code as it is not so clear to me. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Go to Process in Luban, above Create Toolpath you will see 2 arrows, 1 up, 1 down. with them you can navigate the individual objects in the order. At the top there first etc
That only works if things are different objects. As in my example the square would have to be one object and the engraving / cutouts would be another object. Then I could easily control the order. The problem is in overlaying the cutouts on to the square, there is not much precision in “eyeballing” the placement of the cutouts.
