CNC Order of Milling Operations

Hi all, first time using the CNC module on snapmaker 2.0. I used Luban to write the gcode and it’s running the outer perimeter of the part, first, then the inner details. When it gets to the final pass obviously the part will no longer be secured and the inner details will suffer.

If there a way to reorder the mill operations in Luban to first cut out the inner details, then cut out the perimeter?

I don’t want to add tabs. Open to using a different software to write the gcode if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks!

Either add tabs or do the outer/final cut as a separate path. I usually do one or the other depending on the object.

Thanks! Do i need to use two separate svg files for two paths, or is it possible to just select the lines and generate paths separately?

2 files (unfortunately). But I agree with your initial issue, that inner cuts should be done before the outer. Seems like a huge (simple) oversight on the part of Luban . Software should make our lives easier not harder.

Absolutely! Hope they make some improvements in the next update. Appreciate your help!
