Hi, I have a 2.0 printer and I have an STL file sitting in the machine internal storage. I unfortunately lost the original file on my old laptop which got stolen and so the only copy of the file I have is on the printer itself. Is there any way to transfer/copy the file from the printer storage and get it back on my laptop?
We’ve been asking snapmaker for years to let us pull files back off the touchscreen. If it’s on the USB you can transfer it, but if any file is on the touchscreen itself, you can’t.
@Zoe Any update on being able to get the gcode files back off the touchscreen? Maybe transferring them to the USB?
Part of the issue with this is that the file on the machine is NOT an STL, so you will not be able to re-load it into a slicing program and edit it’s settings. Instead, the file stored on the machine is the .gcode file that has already been sliced, which is essentially worthless outside of that specific machine.
Oh, damn. You’re right. Thanks for the help
I just checked with the firmware engineer, and it’s confirmed that for 2.0, there’s currently no way to read the file from the touchscreen to a USB or Luban. If the file is very important or you’re in urgent need of it, we might be able to provide a temporary firmware for you to try when the team has some downtime, but it could take some time.
Hi Zoe, I apologize for the late reply. Yes, if you could do that - it will be a lifesaver for me. I spent hundreds developing this model. Thank you in advance!
