Same issue. I had to unplug the module and reboot the machine. Then I used a flash drive to manually downgrade the firmware back to the previous revision. Plugged the module back in and let it update it and itās working again on the old firmware.
Currently Iām not in the office due to the holiday, so sorry for the reply late.
I noticed that as well, Due to the reason that Iām not the author of this repo, I will contact my colleagues once we back into office (will be around early Feb).
We will update the further news on this thread so please stay tuned.
What did NOT work was setting laser power (10W laser module). It was always the same, no matter if you set 20% or 100%. I checked and the G-Code was fine, so I guessed it was a firmware problem. After downgrading to 1.14.3 the laser power setting worked again.
Module update loop as other people have described.
Out of 6 identical laser cut pieces on one sheet, 2 did not do the 2nd laser cut pass so the 2 pieces where not cut through and unusable.
Downgraded via USB to 1.14.3 and everything is working as expected. Interesting decision to release new firmware on a Friday and just prior to Chinese New Year when support is not available!
Definitely stay away from 1.15 firmware until they fix it. I got hit with the āoutdated module error loopā
Tried downgrading via USB to 1.13.2 and bricked the touchscreen on both of my snapmaker machines.
Best of luck to the all of the Snapmaker support team members returning to work next Monday. Definitely going to have a lot of support tickets to sift through.
I always wonder what they do in terms of Quality Control⦠not much obviously And those that receive the dual extrusion module need the newest firmware to use it⦠what a bummer!
I got the Dual extruder yesterday and just installed it. Without 1.15 it doesnāt recognise the module and they have disabled the upgrade via WiFi. Iām assuming because of the issues reported above. I upgraded via USB (without reading the reported issues on the form) with the orginal module attached and got the endless loop. I attached the dual extruder and it works okay. Currently going through the calibration process
First part of the calribation processes is the Auto Bed Leveling, it heats the bed to 60C before doing a 5x5 calibration⦠or it should. It gets to temperture and just sits there after wiggling the hot ends and does nothing. As a former IT Test Manager this is ridiculously poor and would suggest that their Software QA functions is seriously flawed.
One of my biggest gripes is they manked with the homing procedure. It now simply slams into the endstops and backs off a little instead of tapping them, then backing off and resampling slower for accuracy. Now every time it homes, the origin shifts around, particularly on Y and possibly Z. So Iāve downgraded to 1.14.3 + my inline firmware for now.
