Creating original vector files for laser engraving

This is going to sound like the dumbest question ever, but I can’t find anywhere a description of HOW to create/save/import a file to import into Luban in order to generate G-Code for laser engraving/cutting. The Snapmaker 2.0 user guide says you can draw with a pen, create 2D images in softwares, take a picture with your smartphone, etc. Sounds really simple except it seems that everyone assumes everyone else already understands the mechanics of saving the file in the right format and how to get it into Luban. After reading several topics here I see folks referring to Inkscape as one design software to use to create designs to engrave, but after spending a lot of time in inkscape I’m still not seeing how to save the file from Inkscape and then get it into the Snapmaker Luban for engraving. Please point me in the right direction.

That’s because there isn’t much to it. Save as .svg (“Plain SVG”, ideally), then go the the laser tab in Luban and use the Open button to load the resulting file. Note that Luban’s SVG implementation is pretty crappy. If something behaves oddly, go back to Inkscape, highlight the problem object, and do Path > Object to Path, then save again and re-import to Luban.
