Completed print unraveling

Hi all,

I am experiencing an issue with my 3D prints i havent managed to locate an answer to anywhere on the web or these forums so i thought i woukd throw the question out to you good folks.

My 3D prints run fine, they adhere well with just a skirt, are strong and complete as expected with no visible issues. That is until i try to remove them from the bed. Then the initial layers start to unravel like pulling a thread on a sweater. And it just goes on and on, I could unwind the whole print this way.

The bed is always 60 degrees and the nozzle 200. I am using normal pva filament. Any thoughts?

You mean PLA?

I assume you mean PLA, not PVA. With PLA, I might offer two explanations: One might be underextrusion, i.e. the individual strands of plastic are too thin for the planned layer height and as a result are not squished together good enough. If that’s the case, you might see other effects like not completely filled surfaces. Solutions would be E-Steps calibration or increasing the flow rate. Reason #2 might be printing too cold, and therefore the layers not fusing good enough. Go 5-10° higher then.

The problem might be enhanced - and I seem to read this from your post - by the first layer sticking too well to the print bed. This may be your Z-offset being slightly too low, or - I’ve had this with the free spool of Snapmaker PLA that came with the kickstarter machine - the brand itself is bad and sticks to well - choose another filament brand then.

Delamination!!! That was the term I was looking for. Thank you! I will go through the e-step calibration again and make sure that is correct.

Also when you mention 5 degrees higher is that nozzle, bed or both?
