CNC Carving with Fusion360 problem

hi, i tried to implement the gradual milling in fusion but when finishing i select the VBit from the file that was downloaded from snapmaker. but here he then says invalid cutter.
do you have an idea that lies ahead or how I can solve it?

The V-bit as defined by Snapmaker in the Fusion360 profiles has a “true” tip, i.e. the width of the tip is 0. Fusion does not accept such bits for all kinds of tool paths. I did not quickly find the relating web pages now that I found in the past - they basically said you have to modify tool definition. If you dig through the web you should find helpful advice. That said, I in the past when I hit the same problem I stopped there, because I was just playing around, had no real need, so I cannot tell you which solution works without damaging anything.

Just make sure it’s set as “engrave/chamfer mill” and set the tip size to .1 and you should be good to go. You may find depending upon what you’re carving (like if you’re engraving words/designs in something flat) that you need to raise or lower the z-offset up to .5mm to get the width/look that you want. Run practice tests before you make a run on an expensive piece. Also remember you can always start high and run again lower. No coming back from starting too low.

Where did you find the v bit in the file downloaded from snapmaker? My fusion360 tool library doesn’t seem to include it.

I don’t see an option for engrave/chamfer mill

u need to define the tool by your self its not included in the libary
