Can't 3d print anymore

Hello there

I’ve been having issues with the 3d-printing modul lately. I have huge problems printing anything to such a degree, that even old g-codes dosen’t print right anymore. It is something that has not always been the problem. I’ve been using the laser for a bit, but last time I used the printer it worked fine, when the models were sliced in Luban.

I’ve tried to use Luban pre-settings but also Cura so I could change the heating bed temperature and initial layer hight.

I don’t know how to troubleshoot this. I’ve taken som pictures of my last attempt it didn’t complete the first layer before it ripped off part of the print. Do anyone have any suggestion on how I can get my 3d printer to work again?

Kind regards Jonas

When is the last time you cleaned the print sheet? Scrub with soap and water, then a final wipe with isopropyl alcohol. After that, be very careful not to touch the areas where you will be printing, as the oils from your hands can cause the filaments adhesion with the print sheet to fail.

Looks like Z is too high.

A lot of things can cause prints to go bad. I agree, start with a clean bed. Cheap hairspray works really good to keep the print on the bed. Do the Z alignment. You mentioned not printing for a while. If you’re using old or exposed filament then moisture will ruin the filament. Use a heated filament dryer overnight to recondition the filament. A food dehydrator will work also  .

Hello all
Thank you for the suggestions. I’ll try them out and give some feedback!
I have tried calibrating the printer multiple times regarding the z height. But if I lower it much more I get scratches in the print (if it does not tear the print off).

Kind regards

First, try cleaning the bed and adjusting your z offset as it looks a little too high. If still has a problem your filament could be wet. If it still does not stick to the bed you can increase the initial layer extruded temp, I have mine on 250 for the first layer and 195 for the rest.

Then maybe check your slicer? I’ve accidentally made tiny overhangs and pointed them down in the slicer, causing my print to be slightly above the bed, resulting in catastrophe. Your brim looks decent, but too high, so if your print isn’t on the same plane, something else is wrong.

Cleaning your bed is always a good place to start too.

I was running into this issue too. Where nothing seemed to work. I noticed there was an issue with Luban. Not sure what exactly it is(I’m not a software engineer) but in a nutshell the temperature settings wouldn’t stick, and it was over retracting(software) causing it to retract, cool down, and clog. Try using prusa slicer and see if it fixes it. You may need to slow it down
