Cannot Get Broken Off Filament Out of Module

The filament broke off when printing, and the piece remaining blocks adding new filament. However, it’s such a tiny piece that I can’t get at it with tweezers.

Two key questions:

  • Is there a way for me to remove the heat sink?
  • Is there a way for me to remove the print head?

The latter seems it must be true since the Snapmaker came with a replacement print head, but I don’t see how to do it. Can anybody point me at directions?

Other suggestions?

Try remove all the screws, and then pull the heat sink?

There is an official guide for replacing the nozzle that might be helpful:

I already tried removing the four obvious screws, but it didn’t budge, so there’s more to it. I’ll give this guide a try though next I think. Thanks!

Swapping the print head worked! Though the hex key that came with the Snapmaker stripped itself trying to open it, I had my own set of hex keys and I found one that matched the size and was a little more sturdy. So I just swapped in a new head and am back to printing! Thanks!

Any suggestions on how to get the bit of plastic out of the print head I extracted? It’d be completely usable if I could, but tweezers still can’t seem to handle it. I wonder if I could melt it out…

You can try the atomic method.
