Bed heater turns off when printing in center

Just trying to see if anyone else has experienced/fixed this: for some reason, when I print in the center of the bed, the bed heater seems to just turn off partially through the print.

It’s annoying because it causes the printer to report thermal runaway and shut down.

I’ve checked the connections and updated the firmware, everything seems to be fine, in the thermal graph from octoprint I see the heated bed just not heating about 10 minutes into the print.

It’s also odd that the problem goes away as long as I make sure not to print near the center of the bed.

Just guessing, but I’d assume a break inside the heated bed cable, invisible from the outside, which causes an unstable connection. Depending on where the bed is, it triggers more often than in other positions. To verify, alter the cable position and print again in the center and see if the problem persists/changes. or, if you own a multimeter, check for unstable wires by measuring wire by wire while bending the cable in multiple places.

had same problem. as per @Hauke mine was also a break in the cable. specifically, close to where the bed meets the cable. in my case, i had a print grab a pei plate. it then bowed a little and the print head moved it. then it started moving around when the bed moved. in the end the plate put a slight kink in the cable. after many prints i started seeing what you are seeing. opening the cable at the kink found a broken wire. if you have no kinks go for the spot that’s bent the most and is moved when printing
