Automatic dovetail to cut large prints down to smaller sizes

is there a setting in Luban that will cut dovetails or different connectors to make smaller prints that will fit on the build plate to be later assembled into a larger print?

Not that I’m aware of. I’m not very experienced, but I’m not aware of another slicer that does it either.

I wanted that for a project (to print a build plate cover, which by design must be larger than print area). I ended up designing my own puzzle piece connector and negative shape. It was annoying, but I was super proud of myself after it actually worked.

I’ve used a different piece of software (not a slicer) that can cut up a model into smaller pieces, and it also adds alignment parts for assembly, then you put the resulting STLs through your slicer of choice.
Confusingly it’s also called Luban, but “Luban 3D”. You can get a trial licence, or pay for a month/year etc. Not the cheapest software, but it worked well last time I used it.

It also does other functions, like making lithophanes and mesh/stack layered models.

Another pointer: Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo_tgWfUg2A - Somewhere in there Tom describes using the Fusion 360 Split Body tool, and a bit later the dovetail tool from Prusa Slicer.
