I’m thinking of upgrading my laser module to one of the new 20W modules.
It says that it comes with “air assist”.
What does that mean? The Description page doesn’t give many details on that.
Do I also need a Snapmaker air filter/ pump?

Hello no if you go to the order page and look at the bottom you will see that an "Air Assistant included "so an air pump is included in the package see also “Overall featers” for some devices even with adapter cable to connect them to the main board!!!

Yes, compressor/pump and hose are included.
