I recently purchased a 10W laser and it’s not working. All 3 other toolheads seem to work just fine - I’m wondering if something went wrong with my 10W laser head perhaps? I can get everything to work fine on 3d printer head, 1.6 W laser and CNC. However, when I plug in the 10 watt laser it gets detected, and says ‘let’s do camera calibration’. It gets to the step of ‘Put on your safety goggles’ - I hit calibrate and nothing happens. Is there a way to troubleshoot what’s going on or should I open a ticket with snapmaker?
I am on the latest firmware (I checked) and I have an enclosure and it’s detected by the system. I have tried manually calibrating by camera and thickness and neither seems to work. On the camera calibration manual step it says “The Camera is Disconnected” or “A camera is not connected!” - I forget the verbiage.
Not to state the obvious, but the 10W laser module cable plugs in opposite direction of the other 3 modules.
Only 1 time I got the not detected message and that was because I connected it backwards in haste. For “keyed” connectors they fit in either orientation, poor design.
I did check and it’s definitely plugged in correctly.
Is there a way to reset the controller maybe?? I would think maybe my cable is shot but it works fine with the other 3. Here are two pics of it plugged in and what it’s saying.
A thing to note is the camera is actually connected via bluetooth to the controller, not through the cable. You can see the antenna attached to the black plastic part in the top (that’s what the shiny plastic is on the top, where the antenna can pass through the metal housing).
This was when I took the module apart to clean it. You should contact support if the camera isn’t connecting, they’ll likely have you at least try to reseat the antenna cable.
