Z Wobble caused by uneven movement resistance in the left Z Linear Module

Yes i checked, as a EU Citizen i have up to 2 years of warranty from date of delivery.

@Cousken y’know, I really wish the states had that law.

Yeah… I’m not gonna get into that a whole lot XD Lobbying or petitioning representatives or something? I don’t really know how to politic.

@Cousken honestly I refuse to be any part of politics, if others for whatever reason push to have that happen then cool, but I don’t want anything to do with any politician, they all suck lmao

To be clear i still think you have a motor issue like others have said.

Take a look at this thread on wobble Excessive play in x-axis linear module bracket - Snapmaker 2.0 - Snapmaker: where creation happens yes this is the X axis but the same applies to Y and Z too (i had the issue on my Y)

i note the support article i used 2 weeks ago to adjust my bearing gap has been pulled and seems to not be up anymore!

Which email did you use? They are normally pretty good about getting back in 48 hours or so. And yes i would expect them to send you a new unit, no questions asked, they sent me 4 to date. Try emailing again. @Artezio any idea who from support is monitoring this forum these days?

Interesting, I also see that. Well the instructions were poor so good riddance, lol. Unfortunately that leaves no official support for dismantling on your own, so hope they love sending out warranty replacements.

Yeah i beat up support badly about that and was super clear - the reason i broke i rail (broke end stop switch and bent the aluminium where the grub screw goes in) was the inadequacy of the doc.

The tightening the bearing made huge difference and remove the wobble i was seeing. i think i could now strip rail completely anb put it back together in 30 mins (i just ordered a set of ball ended allen keys/wrenches for the 1.5mm to use with the damn end stop switch bolts).

@brent113 and as usual they do something without saying a single word about it.

@scyto I’ve seen you mention removing the end stop a couple times now. That’s not something I remove when taking the carriage out. Is your module significantly different than this?: Snapmaker 2 Linear Module Check - YouTube

There’s enough clearance to lift the switch out of the way without removal

@Artezio I have no mouth and I must scream I have no forum staff and I must report a problem.

oh i don’t think anyone should remove it, but there are two times ones should:

  1. if you break it (personally from here on out i will remove the screw and traveler from the back of the unit).
  2. when one removes the motor from the back of the unit it risks pulling the black/white cable to the rear in such a way that sometime when it is reassembled any loose cable pulled backwards will coil in the rear of the unit and risks touching the screw. (this can be avoided by pulling the rear module out of the rail no more than enough mm to disconnect the cable).

I could find no way to pull the spare cable back to the front without removing the end stop. I tried fishing etc but couldn’t get that to work. I am sure this will vary based on length of wire etc. Of course if one only removes the traveler from the front this is not an issue.

one of my modules was really tough to insert the traveler from the front (read impossible amount of pressure), so when using two hands to push the traveler in one then needs to use something in the mouth to keep the switch depressed, lol. I didn’t actually break my switch that way - it broke because a screw from the little black guide for the metal strip fell in and i didn’t notice. When i pulled the travel out it pushed the screw along and it ripped the metal part of the switch off :frowning: - totally my fault/mistake. I never managed to get the traveller with the issue in from the front, perfectly easy from the rear, dunno why.

Hello all!

Just a small update from me - after i used the website ticket system instead of the email, Snapmaker got back to me really quick and informed me they will be replacing my linear module. They haven’t shipped it yet ^^

The video is no longer available unfortunately, so I cannot understand what happened here exactly.

except for the kickstarter people who still only got one year warranty…

There must be some mistake somewhere, i am a kickstarter person.

Well they told me I have one year and I am an EU person too… but good luck my friend.
I sincerely wish you well.
