When I got my 40W I was testing a few materials, and decided to try raw ceramic tile, no glaze. Simply turns it into glass.
Then I wanted to see what it could really do, slowed it down, and boiled away the ceramic
This is over 3mm deep. When it was running, listening carefully you could hear it boiling away.

Wow, I didn’t know a 10w laser could engrave granite.
