I doubt it. Luban is intended to be beginner friendly, and the slicing engine is based on Cura. Cura does have Adaptive layers, which lets the slicer decide what layer height to use. I don’t see those settings exposed in Luban though.
There are plenty of guides in the forum for using alternate slicers. I mostly use Cura now, but Prussia Slicer, Simply3D, and several others have been mentioned.
In last versions of Luban they added different interesting features So my expectation was legit. In addition if is true that is based on Cura so why do not add another feature that could be activated by advanced users? For the beginners it wouldn’t be a problem to continue to use the software as they used in the past from the UI for beginners. For advanced users you can go in the advanced settings as it happen now.
I still hope for Variable layers

The same question popped in my mind now.
Cura does have the setting and even with all options enabled it is still as user friendly as Luban.
So enabling the option in Luban would be a big plus for this software.
Adaptive layer height is currently supported by all major slicers.
