U1 Users:trying 3mf files off of Makerworld, with some ‘mixed’ results!

ello Makers!

Just finished my 4th print on my Snapmaker U1. This includes the built-in benchy dragon.

Good results for the most part. Recently, trying 3mf files off of Makerworld, with some ‘mixed’ results.

I am NOT using Open Project, instead I do an import to the 3mf files. However, this still results in a very messy import for multi-plate models. Nothing seems to line up in Snapmaker Orca.

After installing Snapmaker Orca or Orca Slicer, ensure the following basic settings are correctly configured.

————————————————————————————————————

STEP1: Correctly create and add your 3D printer model, and add your commonly used filament configuration types. For example, I added the most commonly used generic PLA as my filament configuration.

STEP2: Drag the downloaded 3MF file directly into the software.

  • Download the 3MF file directly and drag it in.

  • If you load another printer model, you can switch it to Snapmaker U1. It will also ask if you want to migrate the existing profile (it’s recommended to click “Migrate”, and then double-check everything, as it includes many print-parameter settings).

  • Change the filament type and color. If you’ve already set up a filament profile, you can simply select it.

After these basic operations are completed and you’ve confirmed there are no other error messages, you can proceed directly to slicing.

Excellent suggestion—I’ve already submitted the request to the software team to streamline the workflow; hopefully they will prioritize it soon!

I’m doing everything like You but tbh I cannot migrate profile settings from other printer as it always change to default after set to snapmaker. I was even trying to save presset to user presset or project but it’s unavailable after change.

I just get the file from the import button in the files in my snapmaker slicer. Don’t open project only load from the import tap. You’ll see 3mf/stl/step and so on. Have you tried this method?

I understand what you mean.

  • You’re saying that when switching printer models, custom filaments can’t be synced to different machines,

  • when switching to the U1, the filament selection doesn’t default to the last used configuration, right? (Because when I tried switching to the U1 machine, the custom filament profile was still there, but the filament selection became blank).

If I understood correctly, this should be a matter of saving user preferences. I will strongly suggest to the software team to address this, because in my opinion, this is not a difficult issue, but it has a significant impact on user experience!

Hello, I’m saying about print pressets under filament option. For example whe I was using Anycubic Kobra slicer I could save original author pressets (bambu printer) (wall count, etc.) and use it to print with kobra (with some adjustment).
