U1 filament cutter or tip shaping for MultiAce swaps

I love my U1, but changing filament sets manually to suit each print quickly clutters the garage. I’m experimenting with the developing MultiACE project to open up automatic options. The Dev Decay71 has made amazing progress, but he is very open about the limitations to use it as true in-print AMS/MMU due to lack of integrated filament cutter built into U1, endangering stringy end clogging.

I am trying to learn more if there there is a fatal flaw in the ideas to try to mount a filament cutter on top of U1 head. Something like this https://3dmellow.com/products/mellow-cnc-aluminum-magneto-filament-cutter-for-printhead-bracket-–-compatible-with-goliath,-crazy-dragon-hotends-vz-extruder and test if can push the cut lever by moving the tool head to extreme side (not front left used for homing) with something mounted to help apply cut force.

On Bambu/Anycubic 4-to-1 systems, I believe the cutter is between extruder and hot end. Is the only disadvantage to having it above extruder would be required purge waste?

Alternatively, does anyone have any experience optimizing tip shaping on the U1 that could make partially unloaded filament tips easier to reload without clogging .

something like this?
