Very exciting possibility! Can the 4 spools be assigned to the print heads?
Examples:
Head 1 connected to spools 1 and 2, and Head 2 connected to spools 3 and 4? Filament is automatically reloaded when one spool runs out. Similar to Infinity Flow for two print heads. Possibly an additional ACE pro for each of the other two heads.
Head 1 connected to all 4 spools of one ACE pro. As with H2D: reloading and filament changes are possible. Possibly a dedicated ACE pro for each print head?
Hi, at the moment i am aiming at the hot-swap approach so each head is connected to the same slot on each AcePro. So you can have a set of filament in each AcePro and wap between them. But my current developer build is able to laod each head from different Aces.. and can do single layer color swaps.. I’ll post a video later..
Hi, unfortunately not, the AcePro 1 was reverse engineered long time ago, but the the new Ace2 is not and they changed protocol.
Next Release version is coming soon and will bring cross Ace Filament usage, so you can have PLA in ACE1, PETG in ACE2 and Print with Head 1-3 PLA and use PETG from ACE2 in HEAD 4 for supports..
I saw in a video that when unloading, the spool turns too slowly and the filament ends up lying very loosely on the spool – is that the case with your mod too?
In my mod as well as in snapace you can set the retract speed for the acepro. In the video it was on snapace default 80. It gets better when you lower ist, but its never perfect. I don’t think its a software problem, you set speed and retract, can’t imagine what a Kobra does to prevent this… But i printed an upgrade part that helped with the filament leaving the spool and some other Ace problems, like low weight spool try to lay down and bock… 2.0 Anycubic ACE Pro Upgrade Kit ( to new S1 Version) by Gwebster | Download free STL model | Printables.com
