Temperature sensor in hot end came out of hole, is it safe to use?

I’ve three Snapmaker 2 A350Ts. I’ve been doing a lot of PETG printing and at some point the nozzle got clogged. Being lazy and in a hurry I just replaced the hot end with a spare but in adjusting the cables back into the tool head I must have accidentally pulled the temperature wires out of the little hole into the heat block.

I started printing and no matter what I tried the print would first heat the print head to 250, print the skirt or brim and the first layer (sometimes) then give up and stop printing. I tried all sorts of things until I remembered it occurred to me to check the print head.

I’m now running with another printhead but I’m wondering it I can use a pair of pliers to put the wires back into the hole and if I did so if I could trust this print head again, or if I should just throw it out as a loss.

Push it in again and it is done.

Thanks! I’ll keep it around then. And now I know what it can look like when the probe isn’t where it’s supposed to be.
