Snapmaker Artisan – Right Hotend (PVA) Does Not Raise After Tool Change

Hello everyone,

I am trying to print the support interfaces on my new Snapmaker Artisan using PVA (right hotend).

The problem: After using the right hotend, it does not retract upward again. The nozzle remains in the lower position, scrapes across the previously printed layers, and eventually tears the parts off the print bed. Interestingly, after restarting the printer, the hotend moves back up to its home position correctly.

I am using Orca Slicer. Does anyone have an idea which G-code command or setting I need to adjust to ensure the tool-changing mechanism works reliably?

The toolchange itself should raise the nozzle.
If your homing seems normal (right nozzle raises and moves down and raises again) I guess it’s the gcode or your print or slicer preferences.

What do you see in the gcode preview?
May you share a video or your gcode?

Did you activate z-hop?
