If you are trying to calibrate your laser without engraving lines on your piece of wood, try using the manual height set feature in the Snapmaker itself, not Luban. You can get to this by selecting a g-code file in your machine, and then running the file. A pop-up will appear that will show an image of the completed file, and below the image there will be a blue button and a black button. Tap on the blue button to start the file. Before the machine begins to move, another pop-up appears. Tapping the top button will engrave lines on your piece of wood. The bottom button allows you to manually calibrate. Tap on the bottom button. A control panel should pop up. If the laser is on, lower the z-axis until the point of light is .5 mm. You can (more or less) measure this with your CNC/3D Printing calibration card. If the laser is not on, you will have to connect the machine to Luban and turn the laser through that, but make sure you’ve put the laser on low power, or 1% power (The laser will be just light at this point. This is not permanent, it will go back to cutting/engraving power once the machine is moving).
After this, you should now be able to normally set your work origin, and should be good to go!
