Snapmaker 2.0 40W Laser Test - Speed V Laser Power

Here are some test results that may help users set their 40W laser speed and power.
This first test done on 4mm Marine Ply (because it suited my project). I’ll do some other materials if this post is useful for other users.

The photo of the grid on the ply should be self explanatory.
The reverse side of the ply shows the impact of the excessive heat and flames.
I had the flame detector turned off so I could perform all the tests.

Each of the oval shapes that are missing either fell out or came out with a gentle tap and no dage to the plywood

The cleanest result was 70% Laser and 500 speed.

Here is the second photo that I couldn’t upload because of new user limitations

My apologies , but the image doesn’t have the correct orientation

Is it 4mm or 7mm ply?
Thanks for sharing!

Sorry , It’s 4mm. What I do notice is that ply is a tricky one to cut. I have been cutting some 4mm American back walnut and the standard settings of 100% power and 600 speed work fine although a test to see how low I can go and minimise charing on the edges of the cut would be a good test.
