What do you think about this fan?

https://www.ebmpapst.com/en/products/product_search/productdetailaxialcompact.php?pID=53738

that is a good choose, it’s an industrial fan in hight quality.

I’ve installed one direct on the original Backplate.

Have you also replace the fan on the printhead?
Is this also a 24V fan?

Glad to read that this could be mounted on the original backplate. Because the original fan is 35x35x10, this one is 40x40x10. db‘s goes from 35.7 to 22.1, that is a lot less sound!

Airflow is 4.7 CFM, standard 7.01 CFM. Will this fit?

what CFM have your fan that you installed on your Backplate ?

https://www.mouser.ch/ProductDetail/ADDA/AD0424HB-G70-LF?qs=sJBbOGhjUv60lXpa3gjO5A%3D%3D

RPM 13500
CFM 7.01
Maximum wind pressure 9.02mmH20
Noise 35.7dBA
Voltage 24V

If the dimensions are suitable for the original backplate then this is a good choice. Bilzer: does it fit well?
Model G70 has been replaced bij model G71. I wanted to order this (€13,72), but minimum purchase at Mauser are 20 pieces !!!

It fits in to the case well, but must drill new holes to fix it.

Thanks for the reply. May I ask where you bought the fan?

Thank you. The reason I asked you for a picture was because I saw problems for the extra holes needed. You have solved it well, perhaps add a lock plate to complete it visually. I’m going to do it that way.

I have modified the PSU myself by printing a new backplate and use a 40x40x10 fan (old stock from old pc or other unit). It is a 12V fan so i needed to use a step down supply.
I am awaiting an Austrian brand fan :Noctua NF -A 4x20 FLX with about same air flow but at least 10 dBA less noise.
For now the PSU is working well with a lot less noise.

Do you use this backplate?

No I used the flat version.
Only needed to drill and countersink the holes.
A 40x40 fan fits tight in the housing.
I hope to get Noctua fans soon.
