SM Smooth PEI build plate

Anybody got/using the above plate please?

I’ve tried the Eibos Krios whilst waiting for these to come into stock and have been most disappointed, One side I tried PETG on and the top coating came off the plate as well as the model (yes it was cooled) & turned it over to use the other side to find it scratched and perma marked from the U1’s magnets all over & these marks show up on prints :frowning:

So long story short I don’t wanna spend £26 on the new SM smooth if it does the same please?

Edit: if SM need their plates tested then sling a couple my way :rofl:

I am using this build plate for a while for ASA and PA12 now, but always with some “glue” and at 100°C.

So far I haven’t noticed any damage to the surface.

those krios plates are no good. The same thing happened to me, the coating even came off onto the magnets, and I had to use acetone to get it off.

Oooo, sounds like yours was even worse than mine, I’m pee’d off I bought 2 as it was free shipping :frowning:

Gonna use them for crappy stuff that doesn’t matter - Thats Eibos on my do-not-buy list…

I have used the BIQU fine textured build plate, with AquaNet hairspray, with good results on a variety of material. The Snapmaker Smooth PEI plate, however, is amazing. I have used it with Vision Miner Nano, and works very well with PLA and PETG. I have not been able to get HIPS to stick to it yet, but I’ll keep trying. The smooth surface gives a very nice finish on the prints.

Has it been marked at all on the opposite side by the hotplate magnets at all?

Have you tried the SM smooth PEI plate without any additives? My Biqu Glazier plate has been doing so well I’ve never tried the smooth SM plate I bought.
