After a couple of Changes from Print to Cut I run into a Problem since two of the Counterparts for the M4 Screws became so tight that I wasn’t able to get a screw in or out. Is there a Partnumber for a Sparepart?
Maybe you could get them through support. Haven’t tried/asked yet myself.
But I do have the same problem and haven’t been able to find them anywhere available.
I did however succeed in printing them, I’ve been using the printed version since:
Obviously not as strong as the original, but they have been holding up fine for me. (Do note that I keep a wasteboard continuously mounted and put the printbed on top of that. So I hardly ever unscrew them.)
Don’t overtighten the plastic version, I would recommend PETG or ABS in stead of PLA. I assume if you screw/unscrew it often they will need replacement every now and then. Mine have lasted for about 4 months now. (had to replace them once since that post)
I’m surprised that they have become tighter… if anything I’d expect them to loosen up over time unless there is dust in the thread, or the screw has cross-threaded and damaged the thread?
If you can manage to get the screw out, it might be worth running an M4 tap through the thread to clean it up. Freezing the screw (freeze spray or air duster aerosol can sprayed upside down on the screw) might release it.
I have done it by using a power tool to screw them in… And being a bit too enthusiastic… so the internal thread was severily damaged probably. (in my case cutting of the screw head so the nut could be removed)
Result, M4 stuck in the nut and no way to get it out without breaking things.
If you do manage to get the screw out again, an M4 tap is an option of course. (as well as drilling out the screw first with a 3mm drill and retapping it then probably. Or using a bigger drill and using the inserts mentioned in the previous thread. But that is not necessarily easy and little room for error.
