My cat chewed up the cable on my X axis linear module to the point it won’t work anymore. When I emailed support they refused to sell me a new cable and were only willing to sell me an entirely new linear module (for 144$ plus shipping!). That is completely ridiculous and unacceptable.
Does anyone know of a replacement cable I can use, or am I boned?
The linear module cables have the same connector as the tool head cable on the end that plugs into the controller.
On the other end it has an 8-pin connector that goes through the stepper motor and into a control board.
If your soldering or repair skills are good it’s repairable, you could splice the eight pin connector onto a spare tool head cable that’s available for purchase.
It does require dismantling the end cap off of the stepper motor to get the cable free.
I had a cable snag and I had to do that. Support was also unwilling to sell me just the replacement cable.
