I changed filaments from my gizmodorks purple i was using to some tekbear black pla, the purple pla was so nice, but this stuff here is acting kinda funny… coming out kind of brittle
Is this from heat being too high on the nozzle maybe? it was at 195 im dropping it down to 190 to see how it goes.
Yeah I did calibrate with the method of 100 MM found on the forum, i did not do a temperature tower though im not sure how to accomplish that because you can only set the temp for the print before hand or adjusting mid print and without understanding gcode i dont think i can figure that out
However, I think that perhaps it is bad filament. Playing with the temperature, I got it to extrude halfway decent at 210, any less and it would do the above and leave little bits of “gravel” along the way, and any more it would leave a lot of tall bumps that the extruder nozzle would then grind on and make noise on the next layer.
I think its going good enough for the time being… but man it was really tricky to get it just right… tried many dif temps.
It sure handles a LOT differently than the other stuff i was using an hour before.
yea switching filament can be tricky sometimes, looks like moisture to me, does it pop or crackle while extruding? also does the filament seem to be more brittle before you print it? PLA is general pretty difficult to break by hand. if you can take the roll and break a piece off without to much effort then you should bake it to dry it out.
i dont think i heard much cracking but i will def try to snap a piece off.
Its brand new opened afew days ago then kept in a sealed box with one of them dehumidifiers, but maybe it sucked before i opened it. im thinking maybe it did cuz it was funky when i first opened it too
